The Spirit of Christmas is alive and kicking in Kingscourt.  A Complimentary Festive Afternoon will take place on Christmas Eve outside The Wishing Well Bar & Bistro from 1pm to 3pm.  This event is being organised by three local ladies, Lynda Gaynor (Lynda Gaynor Fitness Boot Camp & Personal Training); Aishling McMahon (The Wishing Well Bar & Bistro) and Stephanie Dodd.  Come and enjoy some mulled wine, festive bakes and lots of carol singing, just the thing to get us in the festive mood.  All items and donations funded to Cairdeas Homeless Action Group.  If you have any items from the following list please contact https://www.facebook.com/lynda.gaynor.1 or drop into the Wishing Well Bar & Bistro, Kingscourt:

Our very own local country singer Ellen Tinnelly has launched a Christmas single titled ‘A Christmas Wish’.  The song performed by Ellen was written by the late Kevin Connell, a well known songwriter from Bailieborough.  Ellen, a very talented musician, has performed with many country greats and at just €5 this single is the perfect stocking filler for music lovers this Christmas.  ‘A Christmas Wish’ is available in Pat’s Shop, Kingscourt; The Well Shop, Kingscourt; Daybreak, Kingscourt; Daybreak, Bailieborough; Hanratty’s Shop, Magheracloone and Nora’s in Shercock.  Congratulations Ellen and wishing you continued success.

A presentation of medals to the u 12, 14 and 16 girls was held in Dún a Rí House Hotel on Saturday last. This was a great year for the girls and all management teams. 🏆  Honours include Kingscourt Girls Under 16’s – Divison 5 League Winners;  Kingscourt Girls Under 14’s – Feile Shield Winners and U14 div 2 league winners; Kingscourt Girls Under 12’s – Autumn League winners group E.  A great night was all!  A massive congratulations and well done. 🌟

A sponsored walk will take place on 26th December (St. Stephen’s Day) starting from Clarke’s Corner at 12 noon.  Registration at 11.30am and costs €10.  The walking route will follow through Dun-a-Ri Forest Park and refreshments will be served afterwards in Clarke’s Bar.  A fantastic walking route which can be enjoyed by the whole family or a great way for you and your friends to catch up over Christmas while getting a few miles in!  Either way a great excuse to get out, mingle and help a very worthy cause.  If you would like more information please visit http://kingscourtcancerfund.ie/ or call into Kingscourt Cancer Fund, Main Street, Kingscourt, Co. Local schools will be contacted regarding a Christmas Colouring competition which will run until Wednesday 21st December.  Lots of prizes are up for grabs in various age categories.  Entry to the competition costs €1 and all proceeds will go towards funding Kingscourt Christmas lights.  All entries must be dropped into Callans pharmacy by Wednesday 21st of December.
