There has been no rest for the bandfolk of Kingscourt in this, the bands centenary year!  In the afterglow of the official opening of the new band premises at Cluain Dara on the Balieborough Rd, and the subsequent Band Festival, St. Mary’s Brass and Reed Band followed up with a brilliant annual concert to a capacity audience in Cabra Castle on Sunday 13th of Nov.
As announced then, a commemorative ‘Centenary Book’ was being prepared and it’s launch will be on Thursday 8th of Dec during Bingo in Kingscourt’s Matt Talbot Hall.
Copies will be available in all local newsagents- a wonderful seasonal ‘stocking filler’ for families, friends, former members of the band and especially for those living abroad at only €10!
To finish off the year, the band will be preforming in The Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt at the 6pm vigil mass on Saturday 17th of Dec as well as a festive recital in Murtagh’s Lounge, Kingscourt on Sunday 18th of Dec at 6pm.  All donations on the night will go to the local St. Vincent de Paul Society.
